In an American study, sales of houses were compared between those that were not staged prior to viewing – Group A - and those that were, Group B.  The results speak for themselves.  Group A properties spent an average of 30.9 days on the market before selling. Group B sold in an average of 13.9 days, about half the time it took the test group A to sell.  In Group A houses sold at an average of 1.6 per cent over their offer price.  Houses in Group B sales were on average 6.3 per cent above the asking price, nearly four times more than the other group.
